Description

Research Director (Speech and Language, Bilingual Spanish)

The Research Director is responsible for participating in all development phases of a test product development. The Research Director is the primary lead in developing test items, and working with the author(s) regarding test content and format. The Research Director, working with Psychometrics, is responsible for the final data set, for developing a data analysis plan, reviewing all data analyses, and reviewing the final data included in the Examiner's Manual. The RD reviews and approves the work of the Content Assessment Developer. The Research Director develops the outline for the Examiner's Manual and writes several chapters as well as approving those materials written by the Content Assessment Developer. The Research Director works with the Content Assessment Developer to ensure that all materials, deliverables, are prepared in a timely manner to meet the publication schedule.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Develop research plans for assigned products.

2. Create materials for field-testing (including sampling and data analysis specifications).

3. Work with the psychometric team to analyze field testing results and modify the instrument when needed.

4. Draft manual and related support material.

4. Assist with marketing and clinical sales efforts.

5. Complete development activities assigned on time, on budget, and with a high standard of quality.


Requirements

Experience
Experience Required: Must hold a license or certification in speech-language pathology and have three to five years of clinical experience in administration and interpretation of language and speech tests. Recent experience with treatment/ education of children with language/ learning impairments/ special education is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is a must.

Education Required: Masters Degree in speech-language pathology or occupational therapy

Education preferred: Ph. D. in speech-language pathology or occupational therapy

Skill required:

Must have strong oral and written communication skills, good
planning and organizational skills, knowledge of measurement theory, interest/background in research, ability to work as a team, flexibility, and desire to learn the publishing process.

Bilingual in Spanish/English.
